The TPMS is the acronym for Tire Pressure Monitoring System. This system monitors the pressure of the tire and when it drops below a certain pressure, the TPMS ECU makes the warning lamp turn on for notifying the driver. This system consists of TPMS ECU(or TPMS Receiver) and TPMS sensors. Among components of TPMS system, the TPMS sensor is installed at each wheel rim. and its role is to measure the air pressure and the temperature of the tire and then it transmits its signals to TPMS ECU. The communication from TPMS sensors is done via RF(Radio Frequency) at a frequency.
The TPMS ECU monitors the RF signal of the sensor and if it is not received, this DTC is set.
Item | Detecting Condition | Possible Cause |
DTC Strategy |
•
Monitoring RF signals of Senso 4 | 1. Faulty Sensor 4 2. TPMS sensor which is not fitted in the vehicle specifications 3. Incorrectly installed initiator/ TPMS sensor/ TPMS ECU |
Enable Conditions |
•
There is no RF internal inteference
•
There is no other fault in the sensor
•
There is no problem with a receiver's system voltage
•
Distance travelled during 19 minutes ≤ 3 ~ 30 km (1.8 ~ 18 Mile) | |
Threshold value |
•
Sensor Learning fails
•
No RF message is received from the sensor which is learned |
