The TPMS is the acronym for Tire Pressure Monitoring System. This system monitors the pressure of the tire and when it drops below a certain pressure, the TPMS ECU makes the warning lamp turn on for notifying the driver. This system consists of TPMS ECU(or TPMS Receiver) and TPMS sensors. The TPMS ECU gets signals such as Tire pressure, Tire temperature, Battery status and Sensor ID via RF(Radio Frequency) at a frequency.
The TPMS ECU monitors the RF signals from the sensors. If no valid RF signal is received from a sensor, this DTC is set.
Item | Detecting Condition | Possible Cause |
DTC Strategy |
•
Monitoring RF signlas | 1. Damaged TPMS ECU(RF receiver circuit) 2. TPMS sensor which is not fitted in the vehicle specifications |
Enable Conditions |
•
When vehicle speed is more thamn 25KPH for 17 min
•
The noise is out of the certain range.
•
There is no problem with a receiver's system voltage | |
Threshold value |
•
No valid RF data is received from any sensor |
