Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination or damage.
![]() | ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Go to "CAN communication circuit inspection" procedure. |
Connect all kinds of modules related to CAN communication.
IG KEY "ON" or Engine "ON"
Measure signal waveform between terminal C-CAN-HIGH of cluster module harness connector and chassis ground.
Measure signal waveform between terminal C-CAN-LOW of cluster module harness connector and chassis ground.
Are the measured signal waveforms OK?
![]() | ▶ Go to next procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Check for open or short in the circuit. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
Ignition "OFF"
Disconnect EPS ECU connector and Cluster connector.
Measure the resistance between CAN-HIGH terminal of AFLS ECU harness connector and CAN-HIGH terminal of Cluster.
Measure the resistance between CAN-LOW terminal of AFLS ECU harness connector and CAN-LOW terminal of Cluster.
Is the measured resistance within specification ?
![]() | ▶ Check AFLS ECU and Cluster connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Ω(Infinity), then, Do CAN High/Low line parts inspection and after fixing the "troubleshooting check." procedure is carried out. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
