Warm up the engine until normal operating temperature.

Remove injectors.

3.

Check the cylinder compression pressure.

Insert a compression gauge into the injector hole.

(2)

Set the throttle plate in the wide-open position.

(3)

While cranking the engine, measure the compression pressure.

(4)

Repeat steps ⑴ ~ ⑶ for each cylinder.

☞ Always use a fully charged battery to obtain engine speed of 250 rpm or more.

☞ This measurement must be done in as short a time as possible.

■ Specification : At 220rpm

Compression pressure	24.0kg/㎠
Minimum pressure	21.0kg/㎠
Difference between each cylinder	3.0㎏/㎠ or less

4.

Is engine compression pressure normal?

	▶ The valve system, cylinder head & gasket and cylinder block are normal.
	▶ Go to "Wet type compression pressure inspection" procedure as below.

5.

IG key "OFF" and inject engine oil about 10cc to the cylinder.

6.

Measure compression pressure when cylinder is wet.

7.

Is compression pressure increased?

▶ Disassemble and repair the cylinder block.

▶ Disassemble and repair the valve system.

☞ If compression pressure is low after wet type compression test, most of faults is head gasket problem.
