Variable fuel pump system regulates the amount of fuel that is delivered in according to RPM and vehicle load.Compared to conventional fuel pump that has mechanical regulator, variable fule pump only delivers amount of fuel that is required. Therefore, it has low consumed current and improved gas mileage, reduced fuel pump noise and increased fuel pump lifespan.

Engine control module determines target fuel pressure in according to engine condition, and sends this data to Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM). FPCM controls low pressure fuel pump with 3-way duty control circuit in according to data from engine control module.
