Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power circuit inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect the "TGS Lever" connector.

3.

Measure voltage between "Supply" terminal of the "TGS Lever" harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 12V

4.

Is voltage within specifications?

▶ Go to "Ground circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Check for open or short in harness. Repair as necessary and Go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect the "TGS Lever" connector.

3.

Measure resistance between "Ground" terminal of the "TGS Lever" harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 0 Ω

4.

Is voltage within specifications?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ If harness is not problem, then Substitute with a known-good TGS sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace TGS sensor and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
