Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power circuit inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection1
1.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect the "Select Motor" connector.

3.

Measure voltage between "Supply" terminal of the Position Sensor1 harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification: Approx. 12V

4.

Is voltage within specifications ?

▶ Go to "Power circuit Inspection2" procedure.

▶ Check for open or short in harness. Repair as necessary and Go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection2
1.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect the "Speed Sensor1" connector.

3.

Measure voltage between "Supply" terminal of the Speed Sensor1 harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 12V

4.

Is voltage within specifications ?

▶ Go to "Power circuit Inspection3" procedure.

▶ Check for open in harness. Repair as necessary and Go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection3
1.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect the "Speed Sensor1" connector.

3.

Measure voltage between "Supply" terminal of the Shift Motor Hall Sensor1 harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : approx. 12V

4.

Is voltage within specifications ?

▶ Go to "Power circuit Inspection4" procedure.

▶ Check for open in harness. Repair as necessary and Go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection4
1.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect the "Speed Sensor1" connector.

3.

Measure voltage between "Supply" terminal of the Clutch Motor Hall Sensor1 harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 12V

4.

Is voltage within specifications ?

▶ Substitute with a known-good "TCU" and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace "Select Actuator" as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Check for open/short in harness. Repair as necessary and Go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure.
