Adjustment procedure of parking brake cable.
Adjust parking brake stroke to be 88-98mm (3.47-3.90 in.) by turning the adjusting nut while applying 20kgf to the brake pedal after full stroke operation of parking brake pedal over 3 time for setting parkingcable.
Parking brake adjustment must be carried out after adjusting rear shoe clearance.
After adjusting parking brake, notice as followings.
1. Must be free from clearance between the adjusting nut and pin. 2. Check securely that the brake is not dragging. |
After replacing brake lining, performing Bed-in procedure.
Operate parking brake pedal for 10 kgf effort when the vehicle speed is 60 kPh and then drive the vehicle 500m.
Repeat the above procedure twice.
Must be held on 30% hill.
After assembling, check that all parts move smoothly.
Must be free from troubles when the parking brake pedal is operated at 100kgf.
After pulling the parking brake lever more than 3 times as full stroke to adjust the cable securely, adjust the adjusting nut on lever assembly so that the lever assembly can be placed at 8 notch when pulling the brakelever with force of 20kg.
Remove the adjust hole plug and then turn the adjusting wheel to the direction of the arrow until the disc won't rotate using a screw driver(Flat tip (-)).
Turn the adjust 5 notches in the opposite direction of arrow.
After replacing brake lining (Bed-in procedure).
Pull the parking lever as much as 4 notches (or 9 kg·f).
Drive the vehicle forward 400m at the speed of 50 KPH.
Stop the vehicle for 2 minutes.
Repeat 1) - 3) steps once more.
Check the stroke of the parking brake.
After adjusting, check that there is no gap between the adjusting nut and pin and that the adjusting nut is fixed in the nut holder precisely.
After installation, check that all parts operate smoothly.
