EPS uses an electric motor to provide directional contol to the driver. EPS CM always monitors current of the motor because power of the EPS system is decided by current.
EPS CM compares current measured by internal current sensor with predefined value at same torque condition. EPS CM sets this code and inhibits EPS function if a gap between two values is out of specified range.
Item | Detecting Condition | Possible cause |
DTC Strategy | ● Check Motor current | ● Faulty Motor ● Faulty ECU current sensor |
Enable conditions | ● Engine ON
Threshold value | ● Comparion voltage not the same
Fail Safe | ● EPS warning lamp "ON"
Restoration conditions | ● Normal condition after IG on → off |
