Monitor Scantool Data
EPS Type recognition
1.

Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC)

2.

Ignition ＂OFF＂and then Ignition ＂ON＂.

3.

Monitor the＂EPS TYPE RECOGNITION＂parameters on the Scantool (figure 1).

4.

Choose the area type (figure 2).

5.

Ignition ＂OFF＂ & Wating 20sec.

6.

Ignition ＂ON＂.

7.

Select ＂Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTCs)＂mode again.

8.

Are any DTCs present ?

YES

a.

Substitute with a known-good steering column & EPS unit assembly check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace steering column & EPS unit assembly and then go to ＂Verification of Vehicle Repair＂procedure

NO

a.

Fault is intermittent caused by faulty EPS CM or was repaired and EPS CM memory was not cleared. Go to ＂Verification of Vehicle Repair＂procedure
