Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ [A/T] Check whether there is DTC related to reverse gear in TCM system, then repair TCM system according to DTC diagonositic guide of TCM system.

▶ [M/T] Check whether there is DTC related to intelligent power switch system in cluster system, then repair cluster system according to DTC diagonositic guide of cluster system.

▶ [M/T] If above check is ok, go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
■ Open or Short Check
1.

IG ON, ENG OFF.

2.

Measure voltage between back up signal terminal of intelligent power switch connetor and chassis ground.

Specification : Gear R position (approx 0V), Other gear position (approx. B+)

3.

Is the measured value within specifications?

▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor connection in back lamp switch harness connector. Go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in back up lamp switch circuit between back up lamp switch and intelligent power switch harness connector and then, go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ If above check is ok, go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
■ Open Check
1.

IG OFF.

2.

Disconnect back up lamp switch connector.

3.

Measure resistance between ground terminal of back up lamp switch connetor and chassis ground.

Specification : Below 1Ω

4.

Is the measured value within specifications?

▶ Go to "Componect Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair contact resistance or open in harness and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
