2.
Remove the battery (A) after removing the battery terminal.
Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
To avoid damage, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion.
Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection.
Remove the engine cover. (refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly in EM group)
Remove the battery (A) after removing the battery terminal.
Disconnect the air intake hose (A).
Remove the air cleaner assembly (D) by disconnecting the clamp (A), the PCM connector (B), and AFS connector (C).
Remove the ground cable from transaxle (A).
Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor connector (A), the back up lamp switch (B) and the neutral position switch (C).
Remove the control cable assembly (A) by removing the snap pins (C) and clips (B).
After removing the clip(B) with clamping the concentric slave cylinder tube, disconnect the tube(A).
Using the special tool (09200-38001), support the engine assembly safely.
Remove the transaxle upper mounting bolts (A-3ea) and the starter motor mounting bolts (B-2ea).
Remove the transaxle support bracket mounting bolts (A-2ea).
Remove the steering joint assembly bolt. (refer to Steering column/shaft in ST group)
Lifting up the vehicle.
Remove the front wheels and tires. (refer to Front suspension system in SS group)
Remove the lower arm ball joint mounting nut, the stabilizer link mounting nut, and the tie rod end mounting nut from the front knuckles. (refer to Front suspension system in SS group)
Remove the under shield cover(A).
Remove the roll stopper mounting bolts (A,B).
Disconnect the muffler hanger rubber (A).
Supporting the sub frame (A) with a jack and the Special tool (09624-38000), remove the mounting bolts.(refer to Front Stabilizer in SS group)
Remove the intercooler tube (A) by removing the two bolts (B) and loosening the clamps (C).
Disconnect the drive shafts (A,B) from the transaxle.
Supporting the transaxle with a jack, remove the transaxle lower mounting bolts(A-2ea, B-4ea).
Lowering the jack slowly, remove the transaxle.
Install the transaxle lower mounting bolts (A-2ea,B-4ea) after fitting the transaxle assembly into the engine assembly.
Torque :
[A] 80-100Nm (8.0-10.0kgf.m,57.9-72.3 lb-ft)
[B] 30-42Nm (3.0-4.2kgf.m,21.7-30.4 lb-ft)
Connect the drive shafts(A,B) to the transaxle.
Install the intercooler tube (A) by installing the two bolts (B) and tightening the clamps (C).
Supporting the sub frame(A) with a jack and the Special tool(09624-38000), install the mounting bolts. (refer to Front Stabilizer in SS group)
Torque : 140-160Nm(14-16kgf.m,101-118 lb-ft)
Install the muffler hanger rubber (A).
Install the roll stopper bracket bolts(A,B).
Torque : 50-65Nm(5-6.5kgf.m, 36.2-47.0 lb-ft)
Install the under shield cover (A).
Install the lower arm ball joint mounting nut, the stabilizer link mounting nut, and the tie rod end mounting nut to the front knuckles. (refer to Front suspension system in SS group)
Install the front wheels and tires. (refer to Front suspension system in SS group)
Install the steering joint assembly bolt (A). (refer to Steering column/shaft in ST group)
Torque : 18-25Nm (1.8-2.5kgf.m, 13.0-18.1 lb-ft)
Install the transaxle support bracket mounting bolts (A-2ea).
Torque : 60-80Nm (6.0-8.0kgf.m, 43.4-57.9 lb-ft)
Install the transaxle upper mounting bolts (A-3ea) the starter motor mounting bolts. (B-2ea).
Torque :
[A] 43-55Nm(4.3-5.5kgf.m, 43.4-57.9 lb-ft)
[B] 43-55Nm(4.3-5.5kgf.m, 31.1-39.8 lb-ft)
Remove the special tool (09200-38001).
Connecting the concentric slave cylinder tube(A) install the clip(B).
Install the shift cable assembly (A) by installing the clips (B) and pins (C).
Connect the vehicle speed sensor connector (A), the back up lamp switch (B) and the neutral position switch (C).
Install the ground cable (A) to transaxle.
Install the air cleaner assembly (D) by connecting the clamp (A), the ECM connector (B), and the AFS connector (C).
Connect the air intake hose (A).
Install the battery (A) and the battery terminal.
Install the engine cover. (refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly in EM group)
