Remove the following items;
Air cleaner assembly (B) and air duct (C).
(Refer to "Intake and Exhaust system" in EM group)
Battery and battery tray (D).
(Refer to "Charging system" in EE group)
ECM (E).
(Refer to "Engine control module" in FL group)
Disconnect the speed sensor connector (A).
Disconnect the back up lamp switch connector (B).
Remove the ground (A).
Disconnect the cable assembly (B) after removing the select and pin (A).
Disconnect the clutch tube mounting bracket bolt (A).
Using the SST (09200-38001), hold the engine and transaxle assembly safely.
Remove the manual transaxle upper mounting bolt (B-2ea) and the starter motor mounting bolt (A-2ea).
Tightening torque:
(A), (B) 42.2 ~ 54.0 N.m (4.3 ~ 5.5 kgf.m, 31.1 ~ 39.8 lb-ft)
Remove the manual transaxle support mounting bracket bolt (A).
Tightening torque:
(A) 88.2 ~ 107.8 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.5 lb-ft)
Remove the bolt (B) and then support mount bracket (C).
Tightening torque:
(B) 58.8 ~ 78.4 N.m (6.0 ~ 8.0 kgf.m, 43.3 ~ 57.8 lb-ft)
Remove the under cover (A).
Tightening torque:
8.8 ~ 10.7 N.m (0.9 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 6.5 ~ 7.9 lb-ft)
Remove the Drive shaft assembly. (Refer to "Drive shaft assembly" in DS group.)
Loosen the nuts (2ea) after remove the clutch release cylinder assembly (B).
Tightening torque:
14.7 ~ 21.5 N.m (1.5 ~ 2.2 kgf.m, 10.8 ~ 15.9 lb-ft)
Remove the drive shaft cover (A).
Remove the bracket (A).
Remove the sub frame (refer to " front suspension system" in SS group )
Remove the mounting bolts (A-3ea, B-2ea) of lower part of the transaxle, and the left side cover and remove the transaxle assembly by supporting it with a jack.
Tightening torque:
(A) 42.2 ~ 48.1 N.m (4.3 ~ 4.9 kgf.m, 31.1 ~ 35.4 lb-ft)
(B) 42.2 ~ 53.9 N.m (4.3 ~ 5.5 kgf.m, 31.1 ~ 39.8 lb-ft)
Be careful not to damage other system or parts near by when removing the engine and transaxle assembly.
Lowering the jack slowly, remove the transaxle.
