Component Inspection
■ Check CKPS resistance
1.

IG key OFF.

2.

Disconnect CKPS connector .

3.

Check resistance between 'Sensor signal' terminal and 'Sensor signal' terminal of 'CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR' harness connector.

Specification : 774Ω ~ 946Ω (20℃)

4.

Check resistance between 'Sensor signal' terminal and 'Shield ground' terminal of 'CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR' harness connector.

5.

Check resistance between remainder 'Sensor signal' terminal and 'Shield ground' terminal of 'CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR' harness connector.

Specification : Infinite (∞ Ω)

6.

Is the measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "CKPS waveform inspection" as follows.

▶ Replaces CKPS, and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

IG key OFF.

8.

Connect CKPS connector.

9.

Connect an oscilloscope prove to 'Sensor signal' terminal of 'CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR' connector.

10.

Engine ON.

11.

Monitor the signal waveform at idle and during acceleration.

Fig.1) This shows waveform of CKPS and CMPS simultaneously. The middle area indicates reference points of CKPS and CMPS.

☞ Injection sequence is determined based on Low and High signal of CMPS reference point as detecting cylinder position.

12.

Is the signal waveform normal?

▶ Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Replaces CKPS, and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
