General Description

If opening the Passenger side Door, the switch signal is ON. And, this signal goes to RAM which send it to ADM through CAN. Finally ADM turns the door cutesey lamp ON.

DTC Description

ADM sets DTC when ADM detects open circuit in Assist door courtesy lamp driving IC.

1.

Connect GDS.

2.

IG "ON" and engine "OFF".

3.

Select "DTC Analysis" mode.

4.

After erase DTC, keep the vehicle condition within "the enable conditions" (Refer to "DTC Detecting Condition" table).

5.

Is the same DTC occurred again?

▶ Go to next procedure.

▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ADM's connector or was repaired and ADM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Select "Actuation Test" mode.

Execute "Assist door courtesy lamp" test

Is the service data normal ?

▶ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Terminal and Connector Inspection" procedure.

Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to 'Control Circuit Inspection' procedure.

Control Circuit Inspection
■ Check open in assist door courtesy lamp circuit
1.

Disconnect battery (-) terminal after IG "OFF"

2.

Disconnect ADM and assist door courtesy lamp connector.

3.

Check resistance between one and the other of ADM harness connetor.

Specification : About 1 Ω

4.

Is the measured value within specification ?

▶ Substitute with a known - good ADM and check for proper operation.

If the problem is corrected, replace the ADM and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Check open in assist door courtesy lamp circuit, repair as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Verification of Vehicle Repair

After a repair, it is essential to verify that the fault has been corrected.

1.

Connect scan tool and select "DTC Analysis" mode.

2.

Clear the DTCs and Operate the vehicle within DTC Enable conditions in General information.

3.

Is any DTC outputted again?

▶ Go to the applicable troubleshooting procedure..

▶ System performing to specification at this time.
