Battery
Battery voltage inspection at cranking
1.

If indicators on the cluster lights faintly, charge the battery fully(Battery runs out).

☞ After charging, if charging current is over 3A after 10 minutes, battery would be bad. If battery is not good, battery is needed high charging current continuously.

2.

Measure the voltage between "BATTERY" (+) and (-) terminal at IG key "START".

■ Specification : 10.5V ~ 13.0V

3.

Is measured voltage within the specification?

▶ Go to "Dark current inspection" procedure as below.

▶ Replace the battery.

Dark current inspection

For more accurate dark current inspection, perform following items.

● Remove the ignition key.

● Turn off all electric devices such as head lamp, audio.

● Keep hood switch to "OFF" and close all doors including trunk.

● Do not open/close doors while measuring.

4.

Disconnect "BATTERY" (-) cable from "BATTERY" (-) terminal after connecting (+) probe to "BATTERY" (-) cable.

☞ Don't disconnect (+) probe to preventing system from initializing.

5.

Measure the dark current between "BATTERY" (-) terminal and "BATTERY" (-) cable.

■ Specification : Below 50 mA

● (+) probe → "BATTERY" (-) cable

● (-) probe → "BATTERY" (-) terminal

6.

Is measured dark current within specification?

▶ Go to "Charging current inspection" procedure.

▶ If the measured value is over threshold(50mA), find out which part has the problem by removing the fuse one by one.

▶ Find out the cause of the problem refer to ETM.
