When engine cranking is impossible continuously or intermittently at shift lever "P" and "N", Inspect the transmission range sensor and shift cable adjusting before starting system circuit inspection.
IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF"
Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
Check DTC related to "Transmission range sensor" in the automatic transaxle system.

Select "Gear position", "Gear position - target" on the current data of automatic transaxle system.
Inspect current data of shift lever position in a scantool while changing shift lever "P" → "R" → "N" → "D".
Symptom | Inspection procedure | |
Case1 | ● Shift lever position is same between TCM and shift lever but cranking is impossible. | ● Go to "Starting system circuit inspection" |
Case2 | ● Shift lever position is different between TCM and shift lever or there is no change in the data. | ● There is no problem after checking adjustment of the shift cable , Replace the TCM(Mechatronics assembly.) |
