Check the MAFS visually.
Mounting direction
Any contamination, corrosion or damage on connector
Clogged or wet air cleaner
Deformed or blocked by any foreign material on MAFS' cylinder
Check any leakage on intake system and intercooler system.
After replacing the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAFS), MUST perform the "COMPONENT CHANGE ROUTINE" procedure. Otherwise trouble related with engine performance or emission control may occur until ECM learning about the component is over.
Turn ignition switch OFF.
Connect a scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
Turn ignition switch ON.
Select "ENGINE (DIESEL)".
Select "COMPONET CHANGE ROUTINE".
Select "AIR FLOW SENSOR CHANGE".
Confirm the message, and then press "ENTER" key.
Confirm the "Complete" message, and then turn ignition switch OFF.
Wait for more than 10 seconds, and then turn ignition switch ON.
