Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

Has a problem been found?

	▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Go to "Back Up Lamp and Backwarning System Circuit Inspection" procedure.

IG "OFF", disconnect battery (-) terminal.

Disconnect RAM connector.

Measure resistance between the back up lamp terminal of RAM harness connector and ground of the back up lamp.

Measure resistance between the backwarning signal terminal of RAM harness connector and FBWS harness connector.

Is the measured resistance within specification?

	▶ Substitute with a known - good BWS and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the BSW and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. ▶ Substitute with a known - good FAM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the FAM and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Repair open in circuit of back up lamp and backwarning system or back up lamp internal open, and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
