Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

Has a problem been found?

	▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Disconnect battery (-) cable after IG "OFF"

2.

Disconnect MF switch and IPM connetor.

3.

Check resistance between one and another terminal of rear wiper / washer of MF switch goes to IPM.

Specification : About ∞ Ω

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

▶ Substitute with a known - good IPM and check for proper operation.

If the problem is corrected, replace the IPM and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Substitute with a known - good MF switch and check for proper operation.

If the problem is corrected, replace the MF switch and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Check short in signal harness of rear wiper / washer switch at MF switch, connected to to IPM, repair as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
