Disconnect the battery nagative terminal.
Remove the engine cover (A).
Remove the radiator grille upper guard (A).
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
Disconnect the Air flow sensor connector (A).
Disconnect the breather hose (B).
Loosen the hose clamp bolt (C).
Tightening torque :
2.9 ~ 4.9N.m (0.3 ~ 0.5kgf.m, 2.2 ~ 3.6lb-ft)
Remove the air cleaner assembly (D).
Tightening torque :
7.8 ~ 9.8N.m (0.8 ~ 1.0kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 7.2lb-ft)
Remove the intercooler inlet hose (A).
Tightening torque :
4.9 ~ 6.9N.m (0.5 ~ 0.7kgf.m, 3.6 ~ 5.1lb-ft)
Remove the intercooler inlet hose and pipe assembly (A).
Tightening torque :
9.8 ~ 11.8N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7lb-ft)
Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor (IATS) connector (A), and then remove the intercooler outlet hose (B) .
Tightening torque :
4.9 ~ 6.9N.m (0.5 ~ 0.7kgf.m, 3.6 ~ 5.1lb-ft)
Disconnect the connectors..
Air control valve connector (A)
Rail pressure sensor connector (B)
Boost pressure sensor connector (C)
Glow plug connector (D)
Remove the fuel hoses (A).
Remove the EGR pipe (A), oil level gauge (B), and then disconnect the solenoid valve vacuum hose (C).
Tightening torque :
A: 19.6 ~ 26.5N.m (2.0 ~ 2.7kgf.m, 14.5 ~ 19.5lb-ft)
B: 9.8 ~ 11.8N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7lb-ft)
Remove the solenoid hose & pipe assembly (A) and the inlet upper manifold (B).
Tightening torque :
9.8 ~ 11.8N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7lb-ft)
Disconnect the connectors and remove the wirings with protector.
Fuel temperature sensor connector (A)
Oil pressure switch connector (B)
Lambda sensor connector (C)
Electric VGT control actuator connector (D)
Rail pressure regulator valve connector (E)
Variable swirl actuator connector (F)
Fuel pressure regulator valve connector (G)
Exhaust gas temperature sensor connector (A)
DPF Differential pressure sensor connector (B)
Electric EGR Control Valve connector (C)
RH injector extension connector (D)
LH injector extension connector (A)
EGR cooler bypass solenoid valve connector (B)
Engine coolant temperature sensor connector (C)
Remove the bracket (A), and then the LH noise cover (B) and the RH's too.
Tightening torque :
9.8 ~ 11.8N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7lb-ft)
Remove the fuel feed and return hose and pipe. (Refer to FL group)
Remove the high pressure fuel pipe (rail to rail). (Refer to FL group)
Remove the breather pipe assembly (A).
Tightening torque :
M6 bolt: 7.8 ~ 11.8N.m ( 0.8 ~ 1.2kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 8.7lb-ft)
M8 bolt: 19.6 ~ 25.5N.m (2.0 ~ 2.6kgf.m, 14.5 ~ 18.8lb-ft)
Loosen the engine cover mounting bolt (A), and remove the turbocharger oil feed pipe(B).
Tightening torque :
Bolt A: 19.6 ~ 26.5N.m (2.0 ~ 2.7kgf.m, 14.5 ~ 19.5lb-ft)
Eye bolt B: 26.5 ~ 32.4N.m (2.7 ~ 3.3kgf.m, 19.5 ~ 23.9lb-ft)
Remove the inlet lower manifold assembly (C).
Tightening torque :
9.8 ~ 11.8N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7lb-ft)
The inlet lower manifold assembly is the assembly including the swirl control actuator.
Do NOT disassemble the swirl control actuator from the inlet lower manifold.
Disassembly and reassembly may change the setting specification of the two link shafts which are connected between the inlet lower manifold and the swirl control actuator.
Remove the inlet manifold gaskets
Installation is reverse order of removal with a new gasket.
