Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Fuel sender Circuit Inspection" as below.

Fuel sender Circuit Inspection
■ Check open in fuel sender circuit
1.

IG key "OFF" and engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect CLU harness connector and "FUEL SENDER & FUEL MOTOR PUMP" harness connector.

3.

Measure the resistance between "Fuel(+)" terminal of CLU harness connector and "Fuel(+)" terminal of "FUEL SENDER & FUEL MOTOR PUMP" harness connector.

4.

Measure the resistance between "Fuel(-)" terminal of CLU harness connector and "Fuel(-)" terminal of "FUEL SENDER & FUEL MOTOR PUMP" harness connector.

Specification : Continuity (below 1.0Ω)

5.

Is the measured resistance within the specification?

▶ Go to "Check short to ground in fuel sender circuit" as below.

▶ Repair open in fuel sender circuit and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair".
