Ignition ON & Vehicle "STOP".
Diagnose EPB with GDS for DTC and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTC)" mode.
Click "DTC Status" on the DTC menu bar to see DTC's information.
Confirm that the "DTC Readiness Flag" indicates "COMPLETED". If not, drive the vehicle within conditions noted in Freeze Frame Data or Enable Conditions.
Read the "DTC Status" parameter.
- History (Not Present) fault : DTC occurred but has been cleared.
- Present fault : DTC is occurring at present time.
Is parameter displayed "Present fault" ?

![]() | ▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or Control module's connector or was repaired and Control module's memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
Ignition ON & Vehicle "STOP".
Connect GDS and select "Data Analysis" mode.
Select "Current Data" mode and monitor "Apply Switch"," Release Switch","Current(LH/RH)" parameter.
If DTC is active, perform EPB Apply/Release once then IGN Off/On. If it is still active, perform procedure below.
When EPB switch is actived, check "Current(LH)" value changes(Fig.1).
Specification : approx. 6A.
Is parameter within specifications ?

Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage. ▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
