Monitoring DTC Status
1.

Ignition ON & Vehicle "STOP".

2.

Diagnose EPB with GDS for DTC and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTC)" mode.

3.

Click "DTC Status" on the DTC menu bar to see DTC's information.

4.

Confirm that "DTC Readiness Flag" indicates "COMPLETED". If not, drive the vehicle within conditions noted in the freeze frame data or enable conditions.

5.

Read "DTC Status" parameter.

- History (Not Present) fault : DTC occurred but has been cleared.

- Present fault : DTC is occurring at present time.

6.

Is parameter displayed "Present fault" ?

▶ Go to Next procedure.

▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or Control module's connector or was repaired and Control module's memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Monitor Vehicle S/W Management
1.

Place the vehicle at flat floor.

2.

Rotate steering wheel at center position.

3.

Check correct tire pressure and unload vehicle.

4.

Ignition ON & Vehicle "STOP".

5.

Connect GDS and select "Vehicle S/W Management" mode.

6.

Select "Data Treatment"mode and Perform EPB G-sensor calibration.

7.

If C1283 is still active DTC, perform the procedure below.

▶ Substitute with a known-good EPB ECU and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace EPB ECU and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ If EPB ECU is replaced, perform "Variant coding", "G-Sensor Calibration" in the "Vehicle S/W Management" with GDS.

▶ When EPB switch is activated, check "Current Left/Right" value is changing.
