Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
Remove the sensor.
After immersing the thermistor of the sensor into engine coolant, measure resistance between ECTS signal terminal and ground terminal.
Check that the resistance is within the specification.
Specification: Refer to Specification section.
Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery (-) cable.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.

Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (A).
Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor after loosening it.
Install the component with the specified torques.
Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
Note that engine coolant may be flowed out from the water temperature control assembly when removing the sensor.
Installation is reverse of removal.

24.5 ~ 34.3 N.m (2.5 ~ 3.5 kgf.m, 18.1 ~ 25.3 lb-ft)
