Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).
Engine "ON" and Head lamp "ON".
Turn the steering wheel to the left or right.
Monitor the "Steering angle sensor" parameter on the "Current Data" with GDS.
(Check the data of steering angle sensor with EHPS, ESP system and confirm output values related to CAN communication.)
Specification : If the parameters are changed according to wheel position during steering the wheel(-127 ~ 127)

Steering angle sensor signal is changed according to steering wheel?
![]() | ▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECU's connector or was repaired and ECU memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Faulty in sensor related to CAN communication (MDPS, ESP). ☞ Check the CAN communication circuit and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. ▶ Faulty in steering sensor signal(included in (MDPS, ESP) system that use steering angle sensor). ☞ Substitute with a known - good steering angle sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace steering angle sensor and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. ▶ Faulty in only AFLS ECU signal. ☞ Go to "Inspection/Repair" procedure. |
