Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

Ignition switch "OFF"
Disconnect battery (-) cable.
Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect ECM connector.
Measure the resistance between Pin No. 27 (Starter Relay Control) terminal of ECM harness connector and chassis ground.(W/O ISG)
Measure the resistance between Pin No. 24 (Starter Feedback Signal) terminal of ECM harness connector and chassis ground.(W/O ISG)
Measure the resistance between Pin No. 27 (Starter Relay Control-Low) terminal of ECM harness connector and chassis ground.(With ISG)
Measure the resistance between Pin No. 24 (Starter Relay Control-High) terminal of ECM harness connector and chassis ground.(With ISG)
Specification : Infinite (∞ Ω)
Refer to "Shop Manual" and remove the start relay and disconnect ECM connector.
Measure the resistance between Pin No. 5 (Starter Relay Control) terminal of start relay harness connector and Pin No. 27 (Starter Relay Control) terminal of ECM harness connector.(W/O ISG)
Measure the resistance between Pin No. 3 (Starter Feedback Signal) terminal of starter relay harness connector and Pin No. 24 (Starter Feedback Signal) terminal of ECM harness connector.(W/O ISG)
Measure the resistance between Pin No. 5 (Starter Relay Control-Low) terminal of start relay harness connector and Pin No. 27 (Starter Relay Control-Low) terminal of ECM harness connector.(With ISG)
Measure the resistance between Pin No. 3 (Starter Relay Control-High) terminal of starter relay harness connector and Pin No. 51 (Starter Relay Control-High) terminal of ECM harness connector.(With ISG)
Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω
Is the measured value within specification?
| ▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure. |
| ▶ Inspect and repair open or short in circuit, and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
