Monitor GDS Status
1.

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).

2.

Ignition "ON".

3.

Monitor "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTC)" with GDS.

Is DTC status displayed as Present?

▶ Go to "Monitor GDS Data" procedure.

▶ Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

EPS Type Recognition
1.

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).

2.

Ignition "OFF" and then Ignition "ON".

3.

Perform EPS Type Recognition in the “Vehicle S/W Management” with GDS.

4.

Choose the area type (figure 1,2,3).

5.

Ignition "OFF" & Wait 20sec.

6.

Ignition "ON".

7.

Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTC)" mode again.

8.

Are any DTCs present?

▶ Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.

▶ If problem still occurs, replace EPS ECU and then go to "Verification of Vechicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or EPS ECU connector or was repaired and EPS ECU memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
