■ Visual Inspection
1.

Ignition switch "OFF"

2.

Disconnect battery (-) cable.

3.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and remove PM sensor.

4.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and inspect for following conditions:

- Corrosion and water influx in terminal

- Damaged wiring protection tube, and open in wiring

- Proper installation of the sensor

- Damaged, deformed, or melted sensing element of the sensor

5.

Are the result of the inspection items normal?

▶ Go to "Diagnostic Trouble Code(DTC) Monitoring" procedure.

▶ Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.

▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the PM sensor and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ignition switch "OFF"

7.

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).

8.

Ignition switch "ON"

9.

Monitor "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTC)" with GDS.

10.

Clear any DTCs stored in the system with GDS.

11.

Re-check DTC in the system with GDS.

12.

Did the same DTC is stored in the system?

▶ Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.

▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the PM sensor and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM’s connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
