Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors(and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "CAN Communication line check" procedure.

CAN Communication line check
■ BSD ECU(RH / LH) CAN Communication line check
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Make sure all control modules' connectors are properly connected.

3.

Ignition "ON".

4.

Measure waveform signal between Pin No. 3(CAN-HIGH) of diagnostic connector and chassis ground with Oscilloscope.

5.

Measure waveform signal between Pin No. 11(CAN-LOW) of diagnostic connector and chassis ground with Oscilloscope.

Specification : Refer to Figure below

6.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "CAN communication circuit inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in CAN Communication line between BSD ECU(RH) and BSD ECU(LH) harness connector and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ignition "OFF".

8.

Disconnect Battery(-) terminal.

9.

Disconnect BSD ECU(RH) connector and BSD ECU(LH) connector.

10.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 5(CAN-HIGH) of the BSD ECU(RH) connector and Pin No. 7(CAN-HIGH) of the BSD ECU(LH) connector.

11.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 6(CAN-LOW) of the BSD ECU(RH) connector and Pin No. 2(CAN-LOW) of the BSD ECU(LH) connector.

Specification : below 1Ω

12.

Is the measured resistance within specifications?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Check for open & short in harness.

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
