Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors(and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Status LED Circuit Check" procedure.

Status LED Circuit Check
■ BSD switch check a voltage of power wiring
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Disconnect BSD LED switch connector.

3.

Ignition "ON"

4.

Measure voltage between Pin No. 3(Switch LED) of the BSD switch connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Battery Voltage

5.

Is the measured voltage within specification?

▶ Go to "Open circuit inspection for BSD LED signal circuit" procedure.

▶ Check for open or short in the BSD switch Check a voltage of power wiring circuit.

6.

Ignition "OFF".

7.

Disconnect BSD switch & BSD ECU(LH) connector.

8.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 3(Switch LED) of the BSD switch connector and Pin No. 4(LED power) of the BSD ECU (LH) connector.

Specification : Approx. 1.0 Ω

9.

Is the measured resistance within specification?

▶ Go to "Shorted circuit inspection for BSD LED signal circuit" procedure.

▶ Check for open in harness.

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

■ Shorted circuit inspection for BSD LED signal circuit
10.

Ignition "OFF".

11.

Disconnect BSD switch & BSD ECU (LH) connector.

12.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 3(Switch LED) of the BSD switch connector and chassis ground.

Specification : ∞ Ω

13.

Is the measured resistance within specification?
