Has a problem been found?
 | ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. |
 | ▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure. |
Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
Has a problem been found?
| ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. |
| ▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure. |
IG "OFF" & Disconnect MAPS connector.
IG "ON".
Measure voltage between Pin No.2(power) terminal of MAPS harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx 5V
Is the measured Value within specification?
| ▶ Go to "Siganl Circuit Inspection" procedure. |
| ▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedue. |
IG "OFF" & Disconnect MAPS connector.
Disconnect PCM connector.
Measure resistance between Pin No.1 (signal) terminal of MAPS harness connector and Pin No.23 (signal) terminal of PCM.
Specification : Below 2Ω
IG "OFF" & Disconnect PCM connector.
Measure resistance between Pin No. 2(Power) terminal and Pin No. 1(Control) terminal of the MAPS.
Specification : ∞
Is the measured Value within specification?
| ▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure. |
| ▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedue. |
IG "OFF" & Disconnect MAPS connector.
IG "ON".
Measure voltage between Pin No.2(power) terminal of MAPS harness connector and chassis ground.(A)
Measure voltage between Pin No.2(power) terminal and Pin No.4(Ground) terminal of the MAPS.(B)
Specification : "A" - "B" = Below 200mV (A and B : Approx. 5V)
Is the measured Value within specification?
| ▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure. |
| ▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedue. |
