Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

IG "OFF" and disconnect ETC Motor & TPS connector.

2.

IG "ON".

3.

Measure voltage between Pin No.2 (Power) terminal of ETC Motor & TPS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx 5V

4.

Is the measured Value within specification?

▶ Go to "Siganl Cirtuit Inaspection" procedure.

▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedue.

Signal Circuit Inaspection
1.

IG "OFF" and disconnect ETC Motor & TPS connector.

2.

Disconnect PCM connector.

3.

Measure resistance between Pin No.5 (TPS2 signal) terminal of ETC Motor & TPS harness connector and Pin No.88 (signal) terminal of PCM.

Specification : Below 2Ω

4.

Is the measured Value within specification?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedue.

Ground Circuit Inspection
1.

IG "OFF" and disconnect ETC Motor & TPS connector.

2.

IG "ON".

3.

Measure voltage between Pin No.2 (Power) terminal of ETC Motor & TPS harness connector and chassis ground.(A)

4.

Measure voltage between Pin No.2 (Power) terminal and Pin No.1(Ground) terminal of the ETC Motor & TPS.(B)

Specification : "A" - "B" = Below 200mV (A and B : Approx. 5V)

5.

Is the measured Value within specification?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedue.
