Component Inspection
■ Camshaft and Crankshaft alignment check(Intake)
1.

IG Key "OFF".

2.

Select "Oscilloscope" in the menu.

3.

Connect Channel A positive probe to Pin No.2 (Signal) and Channel A negative probe to Pin No.1 (Ground) on the CKPS connector.

4.

Connect Channel B to Pin No.2 (Signal) terminal of CMPS-IN harness connector and chassis ground.

5.

Engine start. And check the signal waveforms.

A: CKPS & CMPS(Intake side) syncronization - There are about 26~27 teeth between the CKPS missing tooth and CMPS signal.

6.

Does the CKPS & CMPS(Intake side) synchronize properly? (Check variation)

▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM/PCM’s connector or was repaired and ECM/PCM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.

▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the CKPS and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
