Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

	▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Ignition switch "OFF"

2.

Disconnect battery (-) cable.

3.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect ECM/PCM and wheel speed sensor (FR) connector.

4.

Measure the resistance between Pin No. 17 (WSS Signal) terminal of ECM/PCM harness connector and Pin No. 1 (Signal) terminal of wheel speed sensor (FR) harness connector.

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω

Is the measured value within specification?

▶ Check for wheel speed sensor related failure in ABS/ESP system, and then perform applicable troubleshooting.

▶ Once Wheel Speed Sensor related failure is fixed, re-do troubleshooting guide steps carefully.

▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the ECM/PCM and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

When replacing the ECM/PCM, the vehicle equipped with the immobilizer must be performed procedure as below.[In the case of installing used ECM/PCM]

1) Perform "ECM Neutral mode" procedure with GDS. (Refer to "Immobilizer" in BE group)

2) After finishing "ECM Neutral mode", perform "Key teaching" procedure with GDS. (Refer to "Immobilizer" in BE group)

[In the case of installing new ECM/PCM]

Perform "Key teaching" procedure with GDS. (Refer to "Immobilizer" in BE group)

When replacing the ECM/PCM, the vehicle equipped with the smart key system (Button start) must be performed procedure as below.

[In the case of installing used ECM/PCM]

1) Perform "ECM Neutral mode" procedure with GDS. (Refer to "Smart key" in BE group)

2) After finishing "ECM Neutral mode", insert the key (or press the start button) and turn it to the IGN ON and OFF position. Then the ECM/PCM learns the smart key information automatically.

[In the case of installing new ECM/PCM]

Insert the key (or press the start button) and turn it to the IGN ON and OFF position. Then the ECM/PCM learns the smart key information automatically.

▶ Repair open or short in signal circuit, and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
