Component Inspection
■ Visual Inspection on Fuel Line
1.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and inspect for blockage, leakage, bent or damage on fuel line between low pressure fuel pump and high pressure fuel pump.

2.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and inspect for blockage, leakage, bent or damage on fuel line between high pressure fuel pump and common rail.

3.

Have any problems been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve Inspection" procedure.

Ignition switch "OFF"

5.

Disconnect batter (-) cable.

6.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect FPCV connector.

7.

Measure the resistance between Pin No. 2 (Power) terminal and Pin No. 1 (Control) terminal of FPCV.

Specification : 2.60 - 3.15Ω (20℃/68℉)

8.

Is the measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Rail Pressure Regulator Valve Inspection" procedure.

▶ Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.

▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the FPCV and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ignition switch "OFF"

10.

Disconnect batter (-) cable.

11.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect RPRV connector.

12.

Measure the resistance between Pin No. 2 (Power) terminal and Pin No. 1 (Control) terminal of RPRV.

Specification : 3.42 ~ 3.78Ω (20℃/68℉)

13.

Is the measured value within specification?

▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM’s connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.

▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the RPRV and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

caution

When installing component, tighten it within specification.

If component is dropped, check for proper operation. The internal damage may be present.
