Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminal condition. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical systems or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "CAN Communication Line Inspection" procedure.

CAN Communication Line Inspection
1.

Ignition switch "OFF"

2.

Disconnect battery (-) cable.

3.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect SPAS ECU and ABS/ESP connector.

4.

Measure the resistance between Pin No. 19 (C-CAN High) terminal of SPAS ECU harness connector and Pin No. 3 (C-CAN High) terminal of FATC harness connector.

5.

Measure the resistance between Pin No. 20 (C-CAN Low) terminal of SPAS ECU harness connector and Pin No. 4 (C-CAN Low) terminal of FATC harness connector.

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω

6.

Is the measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open in C-CAN circuit and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
