Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect ATM Solenoid connector.

3.

Ignition "ON".

4.

Measure voltage between Pin No. 5 (Power) terminal of ATM Solenoid harness conenctor and chassis ground.

Specification : B+

5.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between ATM Solenoid and TCU and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

3.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect ATM Solenoid and TCU connector.

4.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 16 (Signal) terminal of ATM Solenoid harness connector and Pin. No. 16 (Signal) terminal of TCU harness connector.

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω

5.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in signal circuit between ATM Solenoid and TCU and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
