Check motor operation by connecting power to terminal 4 and ground to terminal 5 of fuel pump connector (A).

Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then remove battery (-) terminals.
Remove the fuel pump assembly.
Check motor operation by connecting power to terminal 4 and ground to terminal 5 of fuel pump connector (A).

Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then remove battery (-) cable.
Remove the fuel pump assembly.
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 3 of sender connector (A) at each float level.

Also, check that the resistance changes smoothly when the float moves from "E" to "F".

Release the residual pressure in fuel line
(Refer to the Fuel Delivery System - Repair Procedures - "Release Residual Pressure in Fuel Line").
Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
Fold up the rear seat cushion (A).
Open the service cover (A) after loosening the screws (B).
Disconnect the fuel pump connector (A), fuel feed tube quick connector (B) and the vapor tube quick-connector (C).
Remove the fuel pump plate cover (D) after removing the bolts.
Fuel pump plate cover mounting bolt :
1.96 ~ 2.94 N.m (0.2 ~ 0.3 kgf.m, 1.45 ~ 2.17 lb-ft)
Remove the fuel pump (A).
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Install in the correct fuel pump direction. (Refer to the groove in the fuel tank.)
