Remove the water sensor (A).
Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery (-) cable.
Remove the battery assembly.
(Refer to Fuel System - "Engine Control Module(ECM)")
Remove the ECM assembly.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
Remove the fuel filter assembly.
(Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "Fuel Filter")
Remove the water sensor (A).
Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Turn the ignition switch ON or idle the engine.
Check that the water sensor lamp turns off after approximately 2 seconds.
Specification: Approximately 2 seconds
Without the presence of water, the lamp will flash for 2 seconds and turn off to indicate that the system is in normal condition.
Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then remove battery negative (-) terminal.
Remove the water sensor.
(Refer to Delivery System - "Water Sensor")
Reconnect the water sensor connector and sensor.
Turn the ignition switch ON.
Ground the sening pin at chassis ground.
Specification: Sensor lamp "ON"
