Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the electric EGR control valve connector.
Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 3 of the valve.
Check that the resistance is within the specification.
Specification: Refer to Specification section.
Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
Remove the EGR cooler assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "EGR Cooler")
Remove the EEGR valve (B) after removing the installation bolts (A).
Install the component to the specified torques.
Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Electric EGR control valve mounting bolt:
21.6 ~ 27.5 N.m (2.2 ~ 2.8 kgf.m, 15.9 ~ 20.3 lb-ft)
After replacing the Electric EGR control valve, the "Component Change Routine" procedure MUST be performed. Otherwise, trouble related with engine performance or emission control may occur until ECM learning on the component is over.
Turn ignition switch OFF.
Connect the GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
Turn the ignition switch ON.
Select "Vehicle, Model year, Engine, System".
Select "Vehicle S/W Management".
Select "Component Change Routine".
Select " EGR Valve Change".
When the message is prompted, turn the ignition switch OFF and then turn it ON again in 20 seconds.
