Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
Remove the air duct and air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Air Cleaner")
Remove the engine room front under cover.
(Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")
Remove the front bumper.
(Refer to Body - "Front Bumper Cover")
Remove the intercooler inlet hose & pipe assembly (A).
Tightening torque
Hose clamp bolt :
4.9 ~ 6.9 N.m (0.5 ~ 0.7 kgf.m, 3.6 ~ 5.1 lb-ft)
(If equipped with a cap, tighten it until the cap is removed.)
Pipe mounting Bolt :
18.6 ~ 23.5 N.m (1.9 ~ 2.4 kgf.m ,13.7 ~ 17.4 lb-ft)
Disconnect the intercooler outlet hose (A) and solenoid vacuum hose (B).
Tightening torque :
4.9 ~ 6.9 N.m (0.5 ~ 0.7 kgf.m, 3.6 ~ 5.1 lb-ft)
(If equipped with a cap, tighten it until the cap is removed.)
Disconnect the boost pressure sensor (BPS) connector (A).
Disconnect the solenoid connector (A) and then remove the wiring (B) from the intercooler assembly.
Remove the intercooler upper mounting bracket bolt (A) and then remove the mounting bracket (B).
Tightening torque :
9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)
Remove the intercooler air guard (A).
Tightening torque :
6.9 ~ 10.8 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 ~ 8.0 lb-ft)
Remove the intercooler (A).
Install in the reverse order of removal.
