Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors(and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found ?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

IG "OFF".

2.

Disconnect SRS Control Module connector.

3.

IG "ON" & ENG "OFF".

4.

Measure voltage between power terminal of Yaw Rate & G Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : B+

5.

Is the measured value within specifications ?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit of SRS Control Module harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
1.

IG "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

3.

Disconnect SRS Control Module connector.

4.

Measure resistance between Pin No.10(Ground) terminal of SRS Control Module harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. below 1Ω

5.

Is the measured value within specifications ?

▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in ground circuit of SRS Control Module harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

3.

Ignition "ON".

4.

Measure signal waveform between Pin No. 9(Local CAN High) terminal of SRS Control Module harness connector and chassis ground.

5.

Measure signal waveform between Pin No. 21(Local CAN Low) terminal of SRS Control Module harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Local CAN High : Max. Approx. 4V / Min. Approx. 2.5V

Local CAN Low : Max. Approx. 2.6V / Min. Approx. 1.2V

6.

Is measure value within specification?

▶ Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.

▶ If problem still occurs, replace SRS Control Module and then go to "Verification of Vechicle Repair" procedure.

caution

In case of replacing SRS Control Module, perform following procedures.

1. "Longitudinal G-Sensor Calibration" for longitudinal sensor offset correction.

▶ Repair open or short in signal circuit between HECU and SRS Control Module harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
