Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

Thoroughly check all connectors(and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

Has a problem been found?

	▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedue. ▶ In case SPAS ECU is replaced, Refer to "Component Inspection" procedure in DTC 1702 and perform SPAS Variant coding in the "Vehicle S/W Management" with GDS.
	▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" Procedure.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"

Disconnect the SPAS Control Module.

Measure the voltage between the power circuit (Pin No.19) of the SPAS control Module and the body ground.

Is the measured value within specifications?

	▶ Go to "Battery Power circuit Inspection" Procedure.
	▶ Check the open or short to ground of the power circuit of the SPAS control Module. And then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"

Disconnect the SPAS/PAS each the front sensor connector.

Measure the voltage between the power circuit (Pin No.1) of the SPAS control Module and the body ground.

1) A cursor : Approx 0.5 V

2) B cursor : Approx 8.0 V

3) DTC Detecting Condition : Sensor Supply Power is above 8.5 V or below 7.5 V

Is the measured resistance within specifications?

	▶ Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps and then, Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedue. ▶ In case SPAS ECU is replaced, Refer to "Component Inspection" procedure in DTC 1702 and perform SPAS Variant coding in the "Vehicle S/W Management" with GDS.
