Ignition Switch "OFF"
Disconnect battery (-) cable.
Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect the EEGR actuator connector.
Measure resistance of Pin No. 2(EGR feedback ground) of the EEGR connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. below 1Ω
IG "OFF"
Disconnect battery (-) cable.
Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect the EEGR actuator connector.
Measure resistance between Pin No. 3(EGR feedback power) and Pin No. 2(EGR feedback ground) of the EEGR actuator.
Specification : Approx. 2.4 ~ 5.6Ω (20℃)
Is the measured value within specification?
![]() | ▶ Go to "Check EGR actuator" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, Replace the EEGR actuator and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
When install a part, tighten it within specification.
When drop down the part, check part's operating condition whether it is damaged or not.
IG "OFF"
Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
IG "ON"
Perform "EGR Actuator" of "Actuation Test".
Check "Current Data" of "EGR Actuator".

Is the measured value within specification?
![]() | ▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM’s connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, Replace the EEGR actuator and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
When install a part, tighten it within specification.
When drop down the part, check part's operating condition whether it is damaged or not.
After replacing EGR actuator, perform "Component Change Routine". Otherwise, problem that performance or emission concerned can be occured from replacing the part.
Ignition Switch "OFF"
Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).
Ignition Switch "ON" & Engine "OFF"
Perform "Component Change Routine"of "Vehicle S/W Management" with GDS.
Select "Intake Air Flow(MAF) Sensor Replacement".
