Component Inspection
■ Inhibitor Switch Check
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Refer to shop manual to remove inhibitor switch.

3.

Check for continuity between power terminal and each gear signal terminal(P, R, N, D) of inhibitor switch.

Specification :

"P" Gear : Continuity check between power terminal and "P" gear signal terminal of inhibitor switch. [Approx. 0.3 Ω (Vehicle Test)]

"R" Gear : Continuity check between power terminal and "R" gear signal terminal of inhibitor switch. [Approx. 0.3 Ω (Vehicle Test)]

"N" Gear : Continuity check between power terminal and "N" gear signal terminal of inhibitor switch. [Approx. 0.3 Ω (Vehicle Test)]

"D" Gear : Continuity check between power terminal and "D" gear signal terminal of inhibitor switch. [Approx. 0.3 Ω (Vehicle Test)]

■ Gear-R Switch check (M/T Only)
4.

Ignition "OFF".

5.

Disconnect Gear-R Switch connector.

6.

Place gear in "R" position.

7.

Check for continuity between power terminal and signal terminal of gear-R switch.

Specification : Approx. below 1Ω

8.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors ( and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.

▶ If problem still occurs, replace Gear-R Switch and then go to "Verification of Vechicle Repair" procedure.
