Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

IG "OFF" and disconnect MAPS, A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor connector.
IG "ON"
Measure voltage between power terminal of MAPS harness connector and chassis ground.
Measure voltage between power terminal of A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. 5V
Is the measured value within specification?
![]() | ▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM/PCM’s connector or was repaired and ECM/PCM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Go to "Check short to ground in power circuit" procedure. |
IG "OFF" and disconnect MAPS, A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor connector.
IG "ON"
Measure resistance between power terminal of MAPS harness connector and chassis ground.
Measure resistance between power terminal of A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : ∞
Is the measured value within specification?
![]() | ▶ If the circuit is insulated well and the sensor power supply from ECM/PCM is low, replace ECM/PCM and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair". |
![]() | ▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
