Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition Switch "OFF"

2.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect the APS, A/C refrigerant pressure sensor, DPF DPS, EGR Actuator and VSA connector.

3.

Ignition Switch "ON"

4.

Measure voltage of Pin No. 3(APS1 power) of the APS connector and chassis ground.

5.

Measure voltage of Pin No. 1(ACV power) of the ACV connector and chassis ground.

6.

Measure voltage of Pin No. 2(BPS power) of the BPS connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 5V

7.

Is the measured value withing specification?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition Switch "OFF"

2.

Disconnect battery (-) cable.

3.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect the ECM/PCM connector.

4.

Measure resistance of Pin No. 2(ground) of the ECM/PCM connector and chassis ground.

5.

Measure resistance of Pin No. 4(ground) of the ECM/PCM connector and chassis ground.

6.

Measure resistance of Pin No. 6(ground) of the ECM/PCM connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. below 1Ω

7.

Is the measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
