Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
Has a problem been found?

Ignition Switch "OFF"
Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect the water sensor connector.
Ignition Switch "ON"
Measure voltage of Pin No. 1(power) of the water sensor connector and chassis ground.
Specification : B+
Is the measured value within specification?

Ignition Switch "OFF"
Disconnect battery (-) cable.
Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect the water sensor connector.
Measure resistance of Pin No. 3(ground) of the water sensor connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. below 1Ω
Ignition switch "OFF"
Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect the water sensor connector.
Ignition switch "ON"
Measure voltage of Pin No. 1(power) of the water sensor connector and chassis ground.(A)
Measure voltage between Pin No. 1(power) and Pin No. 3(ground) of the water sensor connector.(B)
Specification : Difference (A) and (B) is less then 200 mV
Is the measured value within specification?

Ignition Switch "OFF"
Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect the water sensor connector.
Ignition Switch "ON"
Measure voltage of Pin No. 2(signal) of the water sensor connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. 0V

Ignition Switch "OFF"
Disconnect battery (-) cable.
Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect the water sensor and ECM/PCM connector.
Measure resistance between Pin No. 2(signal) of the water sensor connector and Pin No. 77(signal) of the ECM/PCM connector.
Specification : Approx. below 1Ω
