Signal Circuit Inspection
1.

Check ignition lock switch pull-up voltage

(1)

IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF".

(2)

Disconnect ignition lock switch connector.

(3)

IG KEY "ON".

(4)

Measure the voltage between signal terminal of ignition lock switch harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : 11.5V ~ 13.0V

2.

Check open in ignition lock switch signal circuit

(1)

IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF".

(2)

Disconnect ignition lock switch connector and ECM connector.

(3)

Check continuity between signal terminal of ignition lock switch signal harness connector and ECM harness connector.

Specification : Continuity ( below 1.0Ω )

Ground Circuit inspection
1.

IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF".

2.

Disconnect ignition lock switch connector.

3.

Check continuity between ignition lock switch signal harness connector terminal 4 and chassis ground.

Specification : Continuity ( below 1.0Ω )

Component Inspection
1.

Remove the clutch & ignition lock switch.

2.

Rotate the Ignition lock switch lever to the direction of the arrow to check the continuity.

Removal
1.

Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

2.

Disconnect the ignition lock switch connector (A).

3.

Remove the ignition lock and clutch switch (B).

Installation
1.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

(1)

Tighten the nut with the specified torque.

Tightening torque:

2.0 ~ 4.0 N.m (0.2 ~ 0.4 kgf.m, 1.4 ~ 2.9 lb-ft)

note

After pressing the clutch pedal operation stroke to the position (D), turn the ignition lock switch lever to ON->OFF position (E) and then tighten the bolts (B) with specified torque.

Gasoline, FFV 1.6 : 145 ± 3 mm(5.7087 ± 0.1181 in.)

Gasoline 2.0, Diesel 1.6 : 150 ± 3 mm(5.9055 ± 0.1181 in.)

Ignition lock switch ON->OFF position (E)

Gasoline, FFV 1.6 : 72.5 ± 3 mm (2.8543 ± 0.1181 in.)

Gasoline 2.0, Diesel 1.6 : 75.0 ± 3 mm (2.9528 ± 0.1181 in.)
